Individual Development Incorporated (IDI) is a non profit organization, which was established in July 1990 under the laws of the District of Columbia to provide intermediate care facilities for the mentally retarded. Since its inception, IDI through it employees and Board of Directors, have provided residential services for individuals who exhibit a broad range of physical and developmental disabilities. Habilitative services are designed to meet the needs of individuals. Through these services, professional staff promote the development and implementation of behavior plans and other support necessary for each individual to function independently.
The goal of IDI is to provide the highest quality care to the individuals we serve. IDI's specialized services are strategically designed to assist our individuals in becoming self-sufficient through unconditional support and positive motivation. Currently we provide services for 77 individuals with a wide range of abilities.
From the beginning, IDI has been a driving force in the creation of community–based programs for persons with developmental and other disabilities. This energy has been driven by the belief that quality services must reflect a commitment to provide a safe and supportive environment where everyone we served can grow, develop, and were the rights and personal dignity of every individual are encouraged and respected |
